It all started years ago
Once upon a time at the wholesale Seattle Gift Show in 2003, we met a young sweet gal who was promoting her family’s goat’s milk soap company and product line. At the time, we were in a booth nearby marketing our handcrafted jewelry line my husband made. As with many trade shows, crowds come in waves with plenty of time in between to socialize with fellow trade show neighbors.
It was during these quiet moments that we got to meet Amber. We learned about her family’s herd of goats and the business they had developed from the goat’s milk. My husband and I got to sample tons of the products during the show. And of course, we were instantly customers!
As the story goes, under the beautiful Montana Big Sky, about 40 Nubian goats supply milk for a multi-generation family run business that over the years has expanded to include an array of natural skin care products:
- 45 different handmade soaps
- shampoo/body bars
- goat milk lotions
- body butters
- body oils
- bath salts
- lip products
- bath accessories
Some of my favorite handmade goat’s milk soap fragrances are One, Sweet Magnolia, Mother Earth, Cool Water and Lavender. We have been a fan of the soaps for years, however, all their products are great. We have used the body oils and lotions too.
If you like USA handmade products with natural ingredients, check out Windrift Hill. They use their pure farm fresh goat’s milk with natural clay oxides, herbs, essential oils, and other oils.
Not to mention, they also offer two soap bars with extra protection. In light of our current global health situation, these will come in handy. The Serious Bar is unscented, includes neem, and has antibacterial, antiviral, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic qualities. The second is the Tea Tree Shampoo/Body Bar with antibacterial, anti-fungal, and antispetic qualities.
Open For Business
This USA handmade business is still open during these uncertain times. They do offer essential products for daily living. With 8,000 square feet of work space, Windrift Hill employees are able to work within the requested social distancing guidelines. They continue to make their products and are shipping daily.
Goat’s Milk Benefits
I like to use products like these in addition to natural anti-aging skin care for may daily routine. Whether you have skin sensitivity or not, small-batch goat milk lotions or soap offer both hydrating, soothing relief and so much more.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids
Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids, such as lactic acid, which helps remove dead skin cells from your skin’s surface. This leaves new cells on the surface of your skin that are smoother and younger looking. Alpha-hydroxy acids work by breaking down the bonds that hold the dead skin cells together. Promoting natural exfoliation by removing dead skin cells can also help reduce irritation for skin conditions, as well as, offer anti-aging support.
Vitamins and Minerals
Goat’s milk has high levels of Vitamin B3 (niacin), fatty acids and triglycerides which are all super moisturizing and nourishing. Goat’s milk also has large quantities of other B vitamins like B2, B6, and B12. The milk also provides a large amount of Vitamin A, as well as minerals like selenium.
Healthy, Natural and USA Made
Every dollar we spend is a voting dollar. The more time we take the time to purchase wisely, the more we can make a positive impact for our health, our economy, and our planet. It takes time to investigate product ingredients, a company’s history, environmental footprint, and philosophy, but aren’t we worth it?
So while you have the time to do the research, do your own investigation. Consider enjoying handmade goat’s milk soap and by doing so supporting an amazing USA company like Windrift Hill Soaps that is making a difference with healthy natural products. This post may contain affiliate links, at no extra cost to you, which allows me to share products I authentically use, recommend, or support, by receiving a small commission.
